The Friends raise funds from gifts, donations, legacies, events and the profits made in its’ two shops and mobile ward services. These services are staffed by up to 40 volunteers which keeps the operating costs very low and allows the Friends to maximise their funding of needy projects throughout the hospital.
Raising money through legacies, donations, membership subscriptions and events the charity provides funds for innovative new equipment and additional patient comforts at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Mill View Hospital and in local communities across the city.

The Friends are proud to be entirely volunteer led and operated, supporting St Richard’s Hospital and local mental health services. This means that all the money we raise goes directly to making a real difference for patients, visitors and staff.
The Friends of East Surrey Hospital is a voluntary organisation and charity which works for the hospital to benefit patients and staff. The Friends run a coffee shop situated at the east entrance of the hospital, profits from the coffee shop are donated to the hospital, and also via gifts, donations and subscriptions.
